Extending Area Tag with data-maphilight property.......

Hi,

   I'm struggling to extend Area tag with data-maphilight property in UI5, can some one shed some light into this pl. I wanted to achieve the area of imagemap to be highlighted on click event.

   I followed the link Highlight Image Map Area Hotspots With jQuery and downloaded jquery.maphilight.js in UI5 project, but unable to add data-maphilight property to Area tag.
