look up on data set

hi experts,

Will lookup function work with data set ? can I write say..

*LOOKUP XYZ

*DIM ABC:ACCT= BAS(P_ACCT) ?

*DIM ABC:COMPANY =BAS(1000)

....

.....

*ENDLOOKUP

I debugged using UJKT it validated. But pacakge run log is saying BAS(P_ACCT) is not valid.

I am trying to lookup  value on the data set which is accumulation of basemembers on different dimensions
